PUBLIC PResentation & Courses

Speaker/Lecture

Do you need a history-themed program for an upcoming service club meeting or social group event?

Perhaps you are looking for a special commemorative event speaker who can provide unique historical context?

I am regularly called to speak on a number of local history topics and can  deliver lectures at meeting places, retirement communities and on-location special sites.
(Where applicable, these can include illustrated PowerPoint and video accompaniment.)

Classroom teaching

Frederick Community College, Hood College, Towson University and the Frederick County Historic Sites Consortium have utilized me in an adjunct faculty role to teach video production, documentary, and public history/family legacy courses. Over the past eight years, I've taught a variety of courses for  FCC's Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR).

In summer, 2023, I plan to start teaching sessions of a 4-part Frederick history course under History Shark Productions and my own name. It will be based on my 1995 documentary Frederick Town and will include all the additional things I've researched and learned over the past 28 years since the original airing.

Guide Service

I have plenty of experience in developing itineraries, conducting historic walking and cemetery tours, providing step-on host/sightseeing service for motorcoach groups, leading corporate team-building sojourns and chaperoning visiting travel writers, authors and historians. I've also been hired to ride along with families and explain the historical landscape of the Frederick area.
